Aberdeen’s main street has always been held in high esteem by residents and visitors alike. This trail tells the story of its development through time. It follows the old medieval route through the town beginning at the Castlegate and ending at Windmill Brae. Pupils see buildings and structures from different periods along the way and build up a picture of how Aberdeen has developed over time. What they see during the walk sparks lots of interest, often associated with these sites:

•          The Castlegate

•          Site of the Carmelite Friary

•          Union Bridge

•          The Green

•          Site of the ‘Barn’ (used to house                            kidnapped children)

•          Music Hall
